Moniepoint Founder Tosin Eniolorunda Named Among TIME100 Next Global Leaders
Moniepoint co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, Tosin Eniolorunda, has been named among the 100 emerging leaders featured in the 2026 TIME100 Next, a global list recognising individuals shaping the future across business, technology, politics, science, sports and culture.
Eniolorunda is the only African listed among the business, technology and artificial intelligence leaders featured in this year’s edition.
His recognition highlights his role in building financial infrastructure that has expanded access to digital financial services for businesses and individuals across Nigeria.
Founded in 2015, Moniepoint became a unicorn in 2024 and has grown to serve more than 20 million businesses and individuals, according to the report.
The company’s agency banking network covers all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, while its payment terminals have become widely used by businesses and consumers across the country.
TIME Chief Executive Officer, Jessica Sibley, said the 2026 honourees were selected for pushing boundaries, creating new possibilities and advancing their respective fields and communities.
The list, launched in 2019, recognises emerging figures whose influence is considered to extend beyond traditional institutions and established centres of power.
Eniolorunda’s profile was written by Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holdings and founder of the Tony Elumelu Foundation, who was himself named a TIME100 honouree in 2020.
In his tribute, Elumelu described Eniolorunda as a young African who grew up without privilege but possessed the ambition to dream and build, adding that his success could inspire other young Africans.
Reacting to the recognition, Eniolorunda attributed the honour to the Moniepoint team and the millions of businesses and individuals using the company’s services.
He said the recognition would further strengthen the company’s commitment to building financial solutions with greater rigour and attention to the people it serves.
Eniolorunda also expressed appreciation to Elumelu for his support for African entrepreneurship, saying Africa’s future would be shaped by Africans when provided with the right tools and opportunities.
The latest recognition adds to a series of international honours for Moniepoint and its executives.
On September 22, 2026, Moniepoint co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Felix Ike, was named to TIME’s inaugural Executives of the Year list for Tech and Data.
The company was also named among TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies in 2025.
Other personalities recognised in the 2026 TIME100 Next include actor Joey King, NBA star Tyrese Maxey and Filipino tennis player Alexandra Eala.
Kenya’s Wawira Njiru, founder of Food4Education, is also among this year’s honourees, making her one of the African representatives on the wider list.
TIME is scheduled to honour the 2026 TIME100 Next class at its sixth annual TIME100 Next event in New York on October 29.
