ADC Names Imoke, Abdulfatah Ahmed to Lead Presidential Primary Committees

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has approved the appointment of former Cross River State Governor, Liyel Imoke, and former Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, to head key committees for its forthcoming presidential primaries.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party announced that Imoke will serve as Chairman of the Presidential Screening Committee, while Abdulfatah Ahmed will lead the Presidential Election Committee.

According to the statement, the appointments are part of preparations to ensure a transparent and credible internal electoral process ahead of the party’s presidential nomination exercise.

The Presidential Screening Committee will also include C.I.D. Maduabum as Secretary, alongside Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, Nnena Elendu-Ukeje, Prof. David Salifu, and Col. Abubakar Ali Ciroma as members.

For the Presidential Election Committee, Prof. Yisa Gana will serve as Secretary, with members drawn from across political, academic and security backgrounds, including Maj.-Gen. Adamu Jalingo, Dr Auwalu Anwar, Chief Emenike Ikechi, Dr. Macaulay Iyare, Tajudeen Bakare, Elder Ubolo Itodo Okpanachi, Zainab Buba Galadima, Uzoamaka Onyeama, and Maj. Gen Muhammad Inuwa Idris.

The party said the committees were carefully constituted to strengthen internal democracy, enhance credibility, and ensure a smooth and transparent presidential primary process.

ADC leadership added that the move reflects its commitment to building trust within the party and presenting a unified front ahead of the next general elections.
