APC Chieftain Akin Adeyi Congratulates Adeleke, Urges Magnanimity in Victory
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and political analyst, Akin Adeyi, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party on their victory in Saturday’s Osun State Governorship election, while urging the governor to be magnanimous in victory and regard the mandate as a challenge for continuous improvement.
The APC chieftain, in a statement, advised Governor Adeleke to see himself as a father to all and to consider the years ahead as demanding more commitment and quality developmental projects. “As he is rounding up his first term, he should have it in mind that the years ahead demand more commitment and quality developmental projects,” Adeyi stated.
Adeyi further encouraged his party, the APC, to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and to improve upon its highly commendable constructive opposition roles. “As opposition, what is expected from us is constructive criticism, suggestions and advice that will put the state on a more solid path,” he said.
The political analyst specially commended and congratulated the runner-up, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, his party and supporters for putting up a good fight. “Never mind the result. It took even the man you contested against a second attempt to make it. Bongos Ikwue, in one of his evergreen albums, sang: if you tried and failed… keep on trying,” Adeyi noted.
Adeyi also congratulated the entire good people of Osun State on the successful conduct of the election and prayed for God’s repose of the souls of those who lost their lives along the road to yesterday’s victory.
