BAYELSA GOVERNOR DOUYE DIRI RESIGNS FROM PDP
Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The governor’s resignation was made public on October 15.

In a significant political realignment, the Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, along with twenty-two other lawmakers, have also submitted their resignations from the opposition party. This mass exit represents a major shift in the state’s political landscape.
Governor Diri’s departure from the PDP occurs just one day after the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). It is widely believed that Governor Diri is also preparing to join the ruling All Progressives Congress. A source close to the governor stated, “This move is about aligning with the center for the greater development of Bayelsa State.”
