BILLIONAIRE FOLORUNSHO ALAKIJA BREAKS SILENCE ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, ADMIST BLINDNESS SPECULATION

Nigerian businesswoman and philanthropist, Chief Folorunsho Alakija, has broken her silence on social media, addressing speculation about her health. Alakija, the Executive Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil, had allegedly lost her sight due to health struggles that began after a near-air mishap.

In a post on International Women’s Day, Alakija championed women’s empowerment, urging them to “break many more glass ceilings, remove structural barriers and ensure that opportunities are created for women where they don’t currently exist!”

Her caption read: “As we globally celebrate the strides achieved towards gender equity, it is evident that there is still so much more to do. Now, more than ever before is the time to move beyond words and to #accelerate action for women across the globe”.
