El-Rufai Returns to Court After Mother’s Burial

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Tuesday appeared at the State High Court in Kaduna, shortly after the burial of his mother.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had earlier filed multiple charges against the former governor.

Court sources said El-Rufai is expected to proceed from the State High Court to the Federal High Court in Kaduna, where his bail application is scheduled for hearing.

He was last week arraigned before Justice Rilwan M. Aikawa on a 10-count charge bordering on alleged conversion and possession of public property, as well as money laundering.

The court had adjourned the matter to March 31 for the hearing of his bail application.
