FG Deradicalises, Rehabilitates 744 Former Terror Suspects
The Federal Government of Nigeria has graduated 744 individuals formerly linked to terrorist groups under its Deradicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (DRR) programme.

The beneficiaries completed a 24-week course organised by the Defence Headquarters under the Operation Safe Corridor at the Mallam Sidi Camp in Gombe State.

Speaking at the graduation, the Chief of Defence Staff, Olufemi Oluyede, said the initiative is designed to encourage defections from terrorist groups by offering a structured pathway for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

He noted that the programme remains a critical component of the Federal Government’s broader strategy to end insurgency and promote lasting peace, particularly in the country’s conflict-affected regions.
During their stay in camp, the participants received vocational training in various trades, including carpentry, barbing, tailoring, welding, baking, vulcanising, and agriculture.
The graduates are also expected to receive starter packs to support their transition to self-reliance as they reintegrate into their communities.
