GUNMEN ATTACK POLICE HEADQUARTERS IN KADUNA, KILL TWO OFFICERS
Two police officers were killed and two others injured in a night assault on the Divisional Police Headquarters in Zonkwa, Kaduna State, on Friday.

The attack was carried out by gunmen believed to be from Kachia town, who attempted to free inmates they thought were detained at the police station. Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers believed members of their gang were being held there, prompting the assault.
During the incident, several inmates were freed, but not the suspects involved in recent transformer vandalism, who were in a different facility. A fierce gun battle ensued, with combined forces from the Civil Defence Corps, police, vigilante volunteers, and local hunters ultimately repelling the attackers.
The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the deaths of two officers, DSP Monday Madaki and Inspector Bin Magaji, who succumbed to their injuries after being rushed to the hospital.
Fortunately, a female officer who was initially thought to have been kidnapped was later found safe, having fled during the chaos.
