The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly arrested a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, in Kaduna State.

Multiple sources confirmed that operatives of the anti-graft agency took Jamoh into custody on Monday, February 4, 2026.

However, details surrounding the circumstances and specific allegations leading to his arrest have not been officially disclosed by the commission.

Jamoh served as the Director-General of NIMASA from 2020 to 2023, during which he was responsible for overseeing Nigeria’s maritime safety, security, and regulatory framework.

As of the time of filing this report, the ICPC has yet to issue an official statement confirming the arrest or clarifying whether formal charges will be brought against the former NIMASA boss.

Efforts to obtain further clarification from the commission were unsuccessful as officials declined to comment on the matter.
