The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, candidates can now check their results via SMS. To access their scores, candidates are required to send “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.

JAMB clarified that, at this stage, candidates can only view their results, as printing of result slips is not yet available.

The Board also issued a stern warning against the falsification or manipulation of results. It cautioned candidates and their guardians against altering SMS messages from the official platforms to misrepresent scores, noting that such actions constitute a serious criminal offence.

JAMB disclosed that it is already taking enforcement action, revealing that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for allegedly engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic methods. The Board stressed that anyone found guilty will face the full weight of the law.

The examination process is still ongoing nationwide, and the Board assured that additional results will be released in batches as they are processed.
