President Tinubu Appoints New DG/CEO of National Biosafety Management Agency
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu as the new Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA).
The appointment, which takes effect from April 16, 2026, is for an initial term of four (4) years and is made in accordance with Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.
Dr. Fatima Suleiman Zuntu, a public health professional and policy strategist, is widely recognised for her contributions to the design and implementation of impactful national health and development programmes.
According to the Presidency, President Tinubu tasked the new Chief Executive with bringing her expertise to bear in strengthening the agency’s mandate for the overall benefit of the country.
The appointment reflects the administration’s continued commitment to effective leadership and institutional strengthening across key regulatory agencies.
