TRAGEDY STRIKES NIGERIAN GOSPEL MUSIC INDUSTRY AS FOUR SINGERS DIE IN OGUN AUTO CRASH
Four popular Nigerian gospel singers from the same family, Evangelist Ayodeji Kekerejesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina, have tragically lost their lives in a fatal car accident along the Ikorodu/Sagamu road in Ogun State. The accident occurred when a vehicle crashed into two vehicles that collided, with the gospel singers being in one of the vehicles. Ogun State Commander and Public Information Officer for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okupe, explained that the singers died instantly on the spot. “The accident occurred after a vehicle crashed into two vehicles that collided,” she said, urging drivers to avoid overspeeding. Their deaths have created sadness in the Nigerian gospel music industry, with many mourning the loss of these talented artists cut short in their prime. This tragic incident comes after other notable Nigerian gospel singers have faced similar fates, including Sammie Okposo, who died in 2022 after being involved in a car accident earlier that year.
