DELTA STATE SENATOR NWOKO DECLARES SUPPORT FOR WARRI STATE, REVEALS CONSULTATIONS WITH OKOWA AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS

Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North Constituency in the Senate, has revealed that he consulted with former Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and other stakeholders over the creation of Anioma State. Nwoko disclosed that he reached out to the three members of the House of Representatives and members of the Delta State Assembly from Delta North, as well as Okowa, to carry every stakeholder along. According to Nwoko, Hon. Ngozi Okolie and Nnamdi Ezechi expressed support for the creation of Anioma State, while Hon. Victor Nwokolo said he needed to consult with Okowa. Nwoko stated, “I believe I have done what I ought to do as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, representing my people of Delta North.” Nwoko also expressed his support for the creation of Warri State, saying, “I’m giving the initiators of the Warri State my 100% support. With the push for Warri State, automatically Anioma State becomes easier to achieve.” He noted that the push for Warri State would make it unnecessary to undertake all the processes for Anioma State, as there’s another Bill also pushing for the split of the present Delta State.
