AVIATION MINISTER, FESTUS KEYAMO, CELEBRATED ON BIRTHDAY

The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, has celebrated the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, on the occasion of his birthday. In a heartfelt birthday message, Dr. Kana extolled Mr. Keyamo as a dynamic leader, a goal-getter, and an irrepressible patriot whose dedication to Nigeria’s development remains steadfast and inspiring. “Mr. Festus Keyamo is not only a leader with an extraordinary vision but also someone deeply committed to national progress. The Permanent Secretary also prayed for the minister, asking for divine blessings, excellent health, and a sustained vision to enable him to continue contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s transformation. AVIATION MINISTRY PERM SEC KANA VISITS NIMET, PLEDGES MORE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, paid a visit to the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) on Friday, January 10, 2025. During the visit, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NiMet, Prof. Charles Anosike, briefed Dr. Kana on the agency’s operations and its relationship with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Prof. Anosike highlighted NiMet’s strong relationships with various government ministries, including the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Blue Economy. He explained that these ministries rely on NiMet’s weather forecasts for various operations. Dr. Kana expressed his appreciation for the services NiMet provides towards the socio-economic development of the nation. He praised Prof. Anosike, the management team, and the staff of NiMet for their hard work and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. “I appreciate the strong relationship existing between NiMet and other government ministries and agencies. I call for even stronger and better relationships between the heads of the agencies. I will work with the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo SAN, to see that NiMet receives more government support,” Dr. Kana promised. As part of the visit, Prof. Anosike took Dr. Kana on a tour of NiMet’s facilities, including the new digital weather broadcasting studio.

TINUBU ANNOUNCES ESTABLISHMENT OF SIX NEW CAMPUSES FOR NIGERIAN COLLEGE OF AVIATION TECHNOLOGY

President Bola Tinubu has announced the division of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria, Kaduna State, into six campuses to ensure efficiency, national coverage, and smooth operations. This development was shared by the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) through its official X account on Wednesday. According to the APC Ondo State chapter, the six campuses will be strategically distributed across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The campuses will be located in Akure (Southwest), Osubi (South-South), and Ebonyi (Southeast), while others will be established in Ilorin (North Central), Yola (Northeast), and Zaria (Northwest). The President’s decision to expand the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology is aimed at enhancing the institution’s capacity to provide world-class training for aviation professionals in Nigeria. With this development, the college is expected to play a more significant role in promoting the growth and development of the aviation industry in Nigeria.
