NAF AIR STRIKES KILL SCORES OF BANDITS IN ZAMFARA STATE

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a successful air strike against bandits in Zamfara State, killing scores of them. The operation, which was part of Operation Fansa Yanma, targeted the hideouts of notorious bandit leader Yusuf Yellow in Tsafe Local Government Area. According to reports, a counter-insurgency publication, the air strikes were carefully coordinated based on credible intelligence. A senior security source confirmed that the mission was “executed with precision to degrade their operational capabilities.” The source added that the operation was highly successful, but it remained unclear if Yusuf Yellow was among those killed. “Security forces are currently conducting surveillance to assess the full impact of the operation,” the publication said. This operation is part of the Nigerian military’s intensified air and ground offensives under Operation Fansa Yanma, aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region. The NAF has been actively involved in counter-insurgency operations in the region, and this latest success is a significant boost to their efforts.

YOUR EXCELLENCY, BLOOD ON YOUR HANDS.

Dr Abubakar Alkali Wrote: 01/02/2025 Any STATE GOVERNOR who grants amnesty, negotiates or gives any form of soft landing to bandits and terrorists has BLOOD ON HIS HANDS. The Kaduna state Governor Uba Sani has erroneously granted amnesty to bandits and terrorists who daily make life unbearable for his people in Kaduna state particularly in the Birnin Gwari axis. History has shown that amnesty for killer bandits and terrorists never work. From Zamfara to Katsina to Niger to Sokoto, amnesty for bandits has never and will never work for killer bandits because of the blood of the innocent people killed by these terrorists. The question to ask Governor Uba Sani is ‘What about the innocent people killed by these bandits and terrorists? What about those raped and displaced by these bandits? Bandits and terrorists DO NOT deserve AMNESTY. They should be dealt with according to the dictates of the law. Granting amnesty to bandits and terrorists jeopardises counter-insurgency operations and the work of our gallant military fighting on the front lines to keep us safe. Surely, Governor Uba Sani has blood on his hands. Granting amnesty to bandits and terrorists is an admission of failure on the part of government that they cannot handle rag tag bandits. While comparably little Niger republic has chased away these bandits, Nigeria the so-called giant of Africa has resorted to begging, negotiating and a misplaced amnesty with these killer bandits. OMG Nigeria with all its resources – military and other security agencies, human, material cannot handle rag tag bandits and terrorists? We have to stay fixated to a so-called amnesty which has never worked? Haba Where has amnesty ever worked? Even the so-called amnesty for Niger Delta militants backfired long time back, because the militants collected money and upgraded their trade from mere burst of pipelines to outright oil theft for export with alleged connivance of security agencies. Now Nigeria cannot meet its OPEC quota. A country that can potentially make 5 million barrels per day is struggling to make 1 million bpd. Shame! Any President, state governor or any public office holder for that matter who grants any form of AMNESTY or negotiates or gives any form of soft landing to killer bandits and terrorists has BLOOD ON HIS HANDS which he will carry to his GRAVE and explain to his CREATOR.

NIGERIA POLICE FORCE FOILS MULTIPLE BANDIT ATTACKS, RESCUES 207 ABDUCTED CHILDREN

The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant successes in its efforts to combat crime across the nation, with the foiling of multiple bandit attacks and the rescue of 207 abducted children. The Force’s commitment to adopting a more proactive approach in its efforts to combat crime has yielded impressive results, with intelligence-led policing being a key factor in these successes. A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed that on January 18, 2025, Police operatives attached to the Kogi State Command got information of a group of armed bandits holding a strategic meeting for a possible attack at a forest in Budon, Kogi State. Adejobi stated that operatives were mobilized and deployed to the scene, where they engaged the bandits in a fierce gun duel, neutralizing one bandit and arresting four others. Adejobi also revealed that the operatives recovered one AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 30 rounds of live ammunition, and two motorcycles. Similarly, on the same day, a distress call was received at the Dutsinma Divisional Police Headquarters, Katsina State, that some suspected armed bandits were headed to attack Ruwan Doruwa Village, Dutsinma LGA of the State. Adejobi stated that Police operatives, in collaboration with other security agencies, mobilized and intercepted the armed bandits, engaging them in a fierce gun battle that resulted in the neutralization of seven bandits, with the rest of the gang fleeing and abandoning 109 livestock suspected to be rustled animals. In another significant development, Adejobi disclosed that the Nigeria Police Force has escalated its initiatives to combat human trafficking and the operation of illegal baby factories, successfully rescuing more than 207 abducted children from suspected traffickers nationwide. A significant breakthrough was achieved with the arrest of a syndicate involved in child abduction and trafficking by the Ondo State Police Command. Adejobi stated that the operatives apprehended members of the syndicate, identified as Abosede Olanipekun, Lukman Isiaka, and Sabira Izuorah, and rescued 14 children between the ages of one week and seven years old. The success of these operations is a significant blow against those who serve as threats to the nation’s security, contributing to the overall efforts of the Force to enhance public safety. The Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its dedication to duty and commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens. Adejobi reaffirmed the Force’s role as the protector of peace and security of the society, stating that the Force will continue to take a firm stance against criminal activities and ensure that offenders are brought to justice.

MILITARY OFFENSIVE AGAINST NOTORIOUS BANDIT LEADER BELLO TURJI INTENSIFIES IN ZAMFARA STATE

The Nigerian military has escalated its offensive against notorious bandit leader Bello Turji in Zamfara State, dismantling his key hideouts in Fakai, a stronghold in Shinkafi Local Government Area. According to security expert Zagazola Makama, recent coordinated military strikes have resulted in the destruction of multiple bandit camps in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area. “The military burned a school reportedly used by Turji to store foodstuffs and weapons to prevent it from serving as a supply base for Turji’s network,” Makama said. Intelligence sources confirmed that Turji’s group has suffered significant losses, including the killing of his son and many of his fighters. “We killed his son and many of his fighters during the operation. I also listened to Turji’s panicked voice calling for reinforcements from seven other bandit leaders. None of them showed up, and one of his spies narrowly escaped from us today,” the sources said. A considerable number of Turji’s associates, including high-profile lieutenants and possibly family members, were neutralized during the targeted strikes. The operation, described as strategic and carefully planned, is primarily led by special forces with support from the General Officer Commanding (GOC). The special forces are supplemented by personnel from the Navy’s Special Boat Service (SBS) provided by the Theatre Command. “This operation is one of the most decisive efforts in recent times. Our forces are committed to ending the impunity of notorious bandits. This is a sustained campaign to dismantle these networks completely,” Makama said. Recent military successes have been attributed to proactive intelligence sharing and early warning systems, which facilitated the evacuation of civilians from high-risk areas, thereby reducing collateral damage. The Nigerian Air Force executed a series of precise airstrikes, dismantling crucial hideouts and significantly undermining Turji’s operational capabilities. Elite troops from Operation Hadarin Daji and the special forces unit of Operation Fansan Yamma have strategically positioned themselves along key escape routes. Credible intelligence indicates that Turji was last sighted at Zangon Gebe, where he remains surrounded by his heavily armed fighters.
