PRIVATE SCHOOL FEES: LAGOS SOCIALITE SHARES LIFE-SAVING ADVICE

Lagos Socialite and Publisher, Otunba Bestman Nze Jumbo, has spoken out about the financial burden of private school fees in Nigeria, citing his own experience. According to Jumbo, the pressure of paying school fees can be overwhelming for many parents. Jumbo shared his personal story, saying, “The pressure of school fees is killing many parents in Nigeria, and more often than not, they are unaffordable. When I brought my kids back from South Africa, I enrolled them in an expensive private school in Abuja. The stress of paying the fees was very tough on me, as I couldn’t keep up with the payments.” The advocate for good governance, eventually decided to pull his children out of the private school and enroll them in a public school in Abuja. He also arranged for private tutors to teach them at home, which significantly reduced his stress. “It drastically reduced my stress because I understand that brilliance isn’t taught in school but is in-built,” Jumbo said. He added that his children performed well academically, scoring good grades in their JAMB exams while still in secondary school classes. Jumbo encourages other parents to consider similar steps, saying, “Let’s be alive for our kids by reducing the burden and pressure of private school fees. Public schools in some parts of the country have produced some of the best brains in Nigeria, such as His Excellency GCFR, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to mention a few.” He concluded by saying, “I know many people are almost falling into depression because of private school fees. Forget pride and stay alive for these kids. Pull them out of those schools inducing high blood pressure and enroll them in public schools. Hire private tutors if needed—there’s no shame in it. This is my life-saving advice.”

SANWO-OLU’S HUMILITY AND COMPOSURE LAUDED AMID OBASA’S IMPEACHMENT

Bestman Nze-Jumbo, a close ally of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has commended the governor’s calm demeanor and humility following the recent impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. Speaking on Arise TV, Nze-Jumbo highlighted Sanwo-Olu’s consistent display of humility, even in the face of challenging circumstances. Bestman “In all this, you will never hear Babajide Sanwo-Olu make derogatory statements against Obasa or anyone perceived as a hindrance to his leadership,” Nze-Jumbo stated. “That shows the level of his humility, and it’s a lesson for all of us. Humility is key in Lagos politics. In the APC, no one can rise above the party.” Obasa’s impeachment was reportedly linked to tensions arising during the governor’s 2025 budget presentation, where Obasa allegedly kept Sanwo-Olu and his team waiting for hours before the Assembly convened. Nze-Jumbo dismissed speculation of animosity between the governor and Obasa, emphasizing Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to fostering harmony within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). “Probably, Obasa never thought 20 or 25 years ago that he would get to where he is now,” Nze-Jumbo said. “Humility in leadership is crucial, and that’s something Sanwo-Olu demonstrates consistently.” Nze-Jumbo, a philanthropist and communications expert, is a strong supporter of Sanwo-Olu’s administration and has initiated various programs to promote positive development in Lagos State.
