SENATOR NWOKO CALLS FOR GREATER REGIONAL INTEGRATION AND COOPERATION IN INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

Senator Ned Nwoko has reiterated his commitment to regional development, emphasizing the need for greater integration and cooperation in infrastructure and resource management. He made this call during a visit by the Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, Mr. Femi Adekanbi. Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, stressed the importance of strategic projects to boost agriculture, irrigation, and water supply across Delta North, Edo, Ondo, and Ekiti states. He specifically advocated for the completion of two critical dam projects in Delta State: the Ogwashi-Uku Dam and the Idumuje-Ugboko Dam. “These dams, when completed, will transform the region. The Ogwashi-Uku Dam will provide vital water resources to over 60 communities, enhancing agriculture, irrigation, and water supply,” Nwoko said. “Similarly, the Idumuje-Ugboko Dam will improve irrigation, expand access to clean water, and drive socio-economic growth.” Nwoko commended BORBDA’s leadership for its ongoing efforts and pledged to secure adequate funding for the projects. Mr. Adekanbi, BORBDA’s Managing Director, assured Nwoko of the authority’s commitment to completing the projects and expressed gratitude for his relentless advocacy for Delta North’s development.
