The Oza Community was awash with jubilation over the weekend as His Royal Majesty (Dr) Benjamin Ikenhukwu, Keagborekuzi I, the Dein of Agbor, made a landmark visit to the area. Residents, including elders, youths, and women, thronged the streets in a vibrant display of cultural pride, dancing to drumbeats and chanting praises for their monarch. Accompanied by Agbor elders (ndi ichen) and Idibo Dein Chiefs, the revered leader emphasized peace and communal progress during his address. “Unity is the foundation of growth,” he declared. “Let us work together to uplift Oza and honor the legacy of our ancestors.” The visit, part of the Dein’s tradition of engaging communities within his 13th-century kingdom, sparked renewed enthusiasm for cultural preservation. “His presence rekindles our pride in Agbor’s heritage,” said a local elder. “We are motivated to build a thriving future while staying rooted in tradition.” Youths echoed the sentiment, with one stating, “The Dein’s words inspire us to contribute to our community’s development.
