APC APPOINTS DALORI AS NEW ACTING NATIONAL CHAIRMAN AFTER GANDUJE’S RESIGNATION
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori as the new Acting National Chairman, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Friday. Ganduje stepped down citing health challenges, after serving for 22 months. According to sources, Ganduje’s resignation comes amid growing internal pressure from key stakeholders in the party, particularly from the North-Central zone, who have been demanding that the position be returned to their region. “The obvious and ridiculous outing in Bwari Area Council Chairmanship primary election of the party was the height of disgrace,” a party insider stated, alleging that the DPO chased other aspirants away, leaving only one candidate, Hon. Joshua Musa Ishaku. The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed Dalori’s appointment, saying President Bola Tinubu directed him to assume office as National Chairman in an acting capacity pending the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to fill the vacancy created by Ganduje’s exit. “The President has directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori, to assume the position of Acting National Chairman,” Morka said. Dalori, a seasoned politician and grassroots mobilizer from Borno State, brings extensive experience to the role. He previously served as the Borno State APC Chairman and Deputy National Chairman (North), overseeing party affairs across the 19 northern states. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to maintain unity within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections. A substantive national chairman is expected to emerge during the party’s convention scheduled for December. Until then, Dalori will steer the affairs of the ruling party in an acting capacity.
