REMO STARS MAKE HISTORY AS NPFL CHAMPIONS
Remo Stars have emerged champions of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season after a thrilling 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Sunday. Olamilekan Adedayo scored the decisive goal six minutes from time, securing a maiden NPFL title for Daniel Ogunmodede’s side. With this win, Remo Stars made history as the first privately owned club to win the title since Udoji United achieved the feat in 1996. The Ikenne-based club also became the first South West team to claim the title in two decades, following the now-defunct Julius Berger’s victory. Remo Stars finished atop the standings with 68 points from 35 matches, ahead of second-placed Rivers United, who accumulated 58 points from the same number of games. This historic achievement marks a significant milestone for Remo Stars and their fans.
