CUSTOMS OFFICER FOUND DEAD IN KATSINA HOTEL ROOM, FOLLOWING SLEEPOVER WITH THREE WOMEN

A Customs officer, Assistant Superintendent of Customs Lawal Tukur, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in a hotel room in Katsina metropolis. The incident was reported to have occurred on October 15 at the Murjani Hotel. According to sources, hotel workers discovered the lifeless body of ASC Tukur around 8:30 a.m. and promptly alerted the authorities. Preliminary reports indicate that empty sachets of unidentified substances were recovered from a wastebasket within the hotel room. Three women have been linked to the incident. They were identified as Khadija Ali, 34, from Dutsin Amare Quarters in Katsina; Aisha Lawal, 30, from Ingawa Local Government Area; and Hafsat Yusuf, 22, from Brigade Quarters in Kano. It was gathered that Khadija Ali and Aisha Lawal spent the night with the deceased officer, while Hafsat Yusuf joined them later and also remained at the hotel. Following the discovery, the body of the late officer was transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Katsina. A medical doctor at the facility officially confirmed his death. The body has since been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy to ascertain the precise cause of death. The Nigeria Customs Service has been officially notified of the tragic event. A source close to the investigation stated, “Authorities are working to piece together the events that led to the officer’s death.” An investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
