APC GOVERNORS ENDORSE TINUBU AS SOLE CANDIDATE FOR 2027 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors have officially adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election. The endorsement was made at the APC National Summit held at the Presidential Villa, where Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who is also the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, announced the decision. Uzodimma stated that the governors had collectively agreed that President Tinubu should be the APC’s candidate for the 2027 elections. The motion for Tinubu’s endorsement was moved by Uzodimma and seconded by Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, and was unanimously approved by the gathering with an overwhelming “yes” vote. The endorsement is seen as a significant boost to Tinubu’s re-election bid, with the governors expressing confidence in his leadership and reforms. Uzodimma emphasized the governors’ commitment to mobilizing resources and ensuring victory for Tinubu in their respective states. This development comes as discussions on Tinubu’s re-election have taken center stage in political discourse, with posters and billboards headlining his re-election campaign dominating strategic locations in Abuja. The APC governors’ endorsement follows similar moves by other APC regional leaders, including the North Central governors, who recently passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s administration. In a related development, governors and key political figures from the North Central region of Nigeria have also voiced their support for President Tinubu’s re-election, stressing the importance of continuity of his policies and initiatives. The motion for the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term in 2027 was formally moved by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.

HOSTCOM, TANITA SECURITY LEADER TOMPOLO ENDORSE TINUBU FOR 2027 RE-ELECTION, HAIL ADMINISTRATION’S REFORMS

The Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), led by His Highness Dr. Benjamin Style Tamaranebi, alongside Grand Patron Government Oweizide Ekpemukpolo Tompolo, Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027. The endorsement was announced during a world press conference on Monday, where the leaders praised Tinubu’s administration as a “turning point” for Nigeria, emphasizing recovery, stability, and growth. HOSTCOM commended Tinubu’s strategic reforms and policies over the past two years, stating they have set Nigeria on a path to prosperity. The group urged consolidation of these gains through Tinubu’s re-election, citing efforts to address past challenges and “change the course of unprogressive history.” The leaders highlighted Tinubu’s experience in administration and politics, noting his administration’s resolve to reverse negative economic trends, including dwindling crude oil production and high debt-servicing burdens inherited in 2023. Dr. Tamaranebi and Tompolo specifically lauded improved security in the Niger Delta, crediting collaborations between Tantita Security Services and government agencies for safeguarding oil installations and reducing theft. They revealed that crude oil production had surged from 600,000 barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels, positioning Nigeria as a competitive global producer. The leaders also acknowledged the impact of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), increased revenue allocation to host communities, and the provision of socio-economic amenities. “President Tinubu’s leadership has secured lives, properties, and oil assets, deserving continuity,” HOSTCOM stated. They dismissed initial skepticism about the administration’s sustainability, declaring such doubts “now history.” The group concluded that after nearly two years of assessing performance indicators, supporting Tinubu’s re-election was imperative to sustain progress under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
