THREE KIDNAPPERS ARRESTED IN EDO STATE

The Edo State Security Corp has arrested three young men in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area, in connection with a kidnapping incident. The arrest was made possible by a distress call from a woman, Mrs. Ufuha Rita, who was being targeted by the kidnappers. According to the Commander of the Edo State Security Corp, retired Commissioner of Police Friday Ibadin, the woman hid in a bush while his men rescued her and later arrested three of the seven young men who invaded her residence. Ibadin noted that the victim identified the suspects, and they have confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping. The suspects, Asene Ogah, 49, Ibhafidon Eric, 29, and Ekpu Godfrey, 44, were found with two locally made pump action guns. Ekpu Godfrey confessed to having been involved in kidnapping in the past but claimed to no longer be involved. Ibadin warned other criminals in the state that Edo will be hot for them unless they relocate to other states. He also stated that the Edo State Security Corp has done its part, and the suspects will be handed over to the police for further investigation. Mrs. Ufuha Rita thanked the Edo State Security Corp for saving her life and called on relevant security agencies to protect her from the Esan Awareness group, which she claimed was behind the kidnapping. She alleged that since the group was formed, kidnapping and other criminal activities have increased in the area. The Esan Awareness group was created by one Mr. Bruce, who lives in Sweden, and claims to be securing the Esan people. However, Mrs. Ufuha Rita stated that the group is working against the security of the Esan people, and her life is now threatened by the group.
