TANKER EXPLOSION VICTIMS IN NIGER STATE GIVEN MASS BURIAL

The victims of Saturday’s tanker explosion in Niger State have been given a mass burial. According to Sabon Wuse Unit Acting Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ajuh Abang, 73 bodies were buried in a mass grave yesterday. Abang confirmed that 56 other victims with varied degrees of burnt injuries were taken to a local hospital. He made this disclosure while leading a team of accident investigators from FRSC to ascertain the immediate and remote cause of the carnage. The tanker explosion occurred on Saturday at Dikko Junction, Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, Niger State, resulting in the loss of many lives and destruction of property. The incident has been described as one of the deadliest tanker explosions in recent times. The FRSC team, led by Abang, visited the scene of the incident to investigate the cause of the explosion and recommend measures to prevent such incidents in the future. The team also condoled with the families of the victims and the people of Niger State over the tragic incident.
