MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND NATIONAL ORIENTATION ADDRESSES MEDIA AT MINISTERIAL BRIEFING SESSION
The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, welcomed colleagues, permanent secretaries, directors, and heads of agencies to the 4th edition of the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing Series in Abuja. Idris emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, stating that the initiative “underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.” The Minister highlighted the progress and achievements recorded under the stewardship of the Honourable Ministers, noting that five ministers have presented their scorecards to Nigerians since the launch of the 2025 Series. Idris commended the media for their dedication in covering the Ministerial Briefing Session, saying, “Your efforts in keeping Nigerians informed about the administration’s policies, programmes, and achievements are truly commendable.” Idris acknowledged the country’s critical juncture as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu implements reforms, stating, “History has shown that meaningful reforms are never easy; they demand sacrifice, resilience, and a commitment to long-term progress.” He appreciated Nigerians for their patience and perseverance, saying, “These reforms are not just well-intentioned, they are essential for the growth and development of our nation.” The Minister noted that the reforms are yielding positive results, citing a marked reduction in food prices, stability in exchange rates, and a gradual decline in the cost of petroleum products. Idris appealed to religious leaders to pray for the peace, security, and progress of the nation during the sacred period of Ramadan and Lent. He emphasized the importance of faith in governance, stating that President Tinubu “leads with the utmost fear of God, guided by the conviction that history will judge his administration favourably.” Present at the briefing were, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Ahmed, along with the Permanent Secretaries, directors, and heads of agencies of the ministries.
