IGBAJO MONARCH REASSURES SUBJECTS AFTER COURT RULING
The Owa of Igbajo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ademola Makinde, has urged residents of the town to remain calm following a recent court judgment. A state high court in Ile Ife had ruled on a matter related to Oba Makinde’s emergence as the monarch, but he has assured his subjects that he will appeal the decision. Oba Makinde expressed his confidence in the judiciary and stated that his lawyer will approach an appellate court for a stay of execution. “I have received several calls after the judgement. I am not bothered because my emergence was through divine order and my Igbajo people. We are appealing the judgement. We are sure of victory,” he said. The monarch thanked those who have reached out to him and assured them that justice will be served in his favor. He also guaranteed the security of his subjects, urging them to go about their daily activities without any hindrance.
