STANDUP FOR WOMEN SOCIETY FCT CHAPTER CLOSES 2025 WITH THANKSGIVING AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Standup for Women Society (SWS) FCT Chapter has concluded its activities for the year 2025 with a Thanksgiving Service and a significant community outreach. The Thanksgiving Service was held at the NTA Arena Chapel in Abuja on December 14, featuring songs, dances, and a sermon that stressed the necessity of showing gratitude to God annually. In a statement by the Secretary, Lib. Dr Princess Joy Omagha Idam, the organization detailed its subsequent outreach at Aso Village, Sabon Lugbe, under Kabusa Ward. Members distributed gifts to over 1500 women and children, including hair accessories, food items, household essentials, clothing, footwear, and handbags. This outreach was part of the society’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative aimed at giving back. Chairperson Lib Mina Daniels affirmed the chapter’s commitment to supporting more communities in the new year and thanked members for their generous donations towards the project. The event also served as a show of solidarity with Hon. Princess Gladys Ngozi Joseph, Councillor Candidate for ADC Kabusa Ward. Hon. Gladys Joseph described the exercise as massive. She stated that members shocked her with the show of solidarity and that the exercise will boost her chances in the forthcoming February 2026 elections, expressing her appreciation to the SWS FCT Chapter. The Women Leader of Aso Community, Comrade Tokwase Josiah, thanked the group for remembering her community. “We are very grateful for this visit, we don’t take it for granted and we look forward to more next year,” she said. Lib Grace Oshinyemi, a National Officer, thanked God for the gift of life and encouraged members to prepare for 2026 and to make such community projects a regular undertaking. Princess Joy Omagha Idam further noted that members later attended the NTA Sports Inaugural End of Year Party Awards in solidarity with the Treasurer, Lib Rachel Ayeni, describing it as a colourful way to end the day. Princess Joy Omagha Idam confirmed the successful execution of both events, underscoring the chapter’s impactful end to the year.
