FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU COMMISSIONS NYSC DIGITAL MUSEUM AND TELEVISION STUDIO

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Digital Museum of Dynamic History and Television studio. The facilities, located within the NYSC Directorate headquarters, mark a significant milestone in preserving the legacy of the NYSC Scheme, which has played a pivotal role in fostering patriotism, promoting national unity, and service among Nigerian youth since its establishment in 1973. The SSA Media to the First Lady, Busola Kukoyi, in a statement, said the First Lady commended the Nigerian youth, describing them as “indomitable spirits” admired globally. “The Nigerian youth embody an indomitable spirit that the world admires; a spirit of resilience, innovation, and boundless energy,” Senator Tinubu said. Kukoyi added that the First Lady noted the Digital Museum would serve as a tool for civic education and inculcation of national values, showcasing the innovativeness and creativity of Nigerian youth. The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, applauded the First Lady for her contributions to youth development, particularly through her Renewed Hope Initiative. He encouraged the youth to carry on the legacy of the NYSC and conduct research to promote the facility and national development. Olawande explained that the facilities were built with determination by the NYSC leadership, showcasing the scheme’s alignment with global trends. The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, said the museum and TV studio are a dynamic chronicle of Nigeria’s shared history, values, and aspirations. Busola Kukoyi stated that the NYSC museum aims to show the rich legacy of the scheme and Nigeria. The commissioning ceremony was highlighted by a live interview with the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in the newly commissioned TV studio.

MINISTER OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT APPROVES TWO SLOTS FOR FNYLPPN IN PRESIDENTIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE FOR NATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE

The Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, has approved two slots for the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) in the Presidential Planning Committee for the imminent National Youth Conference, Confab 2025. This decision was reached during a critical and strategic meeting held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the minister’s conference room in Abuja, FCT, Nigeria. In a statement, the Secretary of FNYLPPN (United), Comrade Wolimoh Olajide, revealed that the minister emphasized the importance of organizing a successful National Youth Conference, which will take place across various constituencies in the federation. Olajide stated that the minister’s vision is to create an all-inclusive governance structure that prioritizes youth participation and inclusion in Nigeria. The minister noted that the Presidential Initiative of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR administration’s renewed hope agenda for the National Youth Conference aims to resolve the age-long exclusion of youth participation and other issues that have hindered the growth and development of youth in Nigeria. Wolimoh Olajide stated that the forum thanked the minister for his interventions, mediations, and insistence on ensuring that the word “Faction” is no longer associated with the forum. The forum membership, which cuts across 19 political parties, has pledged its commitment to supporting the minister in achieving an excellent outing during the National Youth Conference and furthering the minister’s records of performance, monitoring, and delivery to the youth of Nigeria. Olajide stated that the youth leaders agreed to mobilize the youth of their respective political parties and constituencies to participate in the confab nationwide. Wolimoh Olajide further stated that the minister commended the recently launched Youth Activities Dashboard (YAD) initiative and enjoined the forum to work closely with the ministry to actualize federal government opportunities and private initiatives aimed at funding programs for youth empowerment and job creation nationwide. The minister also agreed to mainstream the activities of the forum with the activities of the ministry of Youth Development for greater impact in service delivery, budgetary implementation, youth mobilization, empowerment programs, and federal board appointments consideration. The minister emphasized the importance of his “Country First & Worker Together” mantra, which is beyond political party consideration and affiliation, to building an egalitarian society using the office of the Minister of Youth Development as the “Driving Force.” Wolimoh Olajide stated that the minister insisted that national youth leaders must now know that they have the Minister of Youth Development with them 100%.
