Tinubu Sends Gbajabiamila-Led Delegation, NSA Ribadu, Service Chiefs to Oyo Over Oriire School Abductions

A high-powered Federal Government delegation sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

The delegation is led by the Chief of Staff to the President, , and includes the National Security Adviser, .

 

Other members of the team include the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd.), the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, as well as other senior security and government officials.

The delegation is on a fact-finding and security assessment mission aimed at evaluating the situation on the ground, engaging with affected communities, and coordinating the Federal Government’s response to the abduction incident.

 

Officials are expected to meet families of the abducted pupils and teachers, local leaders, and security stakeholders as part of efforts to accelerate ongoing rescue operations.

 

The visit underscores the growing federal attention to the incident, as authorities intensify efforts to secure the safe return of those abducted from schools in the area.

Security sources say the presence of top security chiefs signals a coordinated approach to strengthening operations and improving intelligence-led responses in the affected communities.

 

The abduction in Oriire LGA has sparked widespread concern across Oyo State and renewed calls for enhanced protection of schools and rural communities vulnerable to attacks.

Federal and state authorities have continued to assure residents that efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue and return of all victims.
