TOURISM DG LADY VIVIAN ELABOR LINKS ROYAL VISIT TO UNITY AND PROSPERITY UNDER OKPEBHOLO

The Director General of the Edo State Tourism Agency, Lady Vivian Elabor, has drawn a direct connection between the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II’s visit to the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo and a new era of unity for the state.

While addressing journalists at the Government House, Lady Elabor insisted that the visit connotes a Governor who is ready to unite Edo people and sustain the culture and tradition of Edo land. “The visit signifies Unity and Collaboration. This is about fostering peace and prosperity in the land,” she stated, interpreting the event’s cultural and political significance.

During the high profile visit, Oba Ewuare II, while extoling the good qualities of Governor Okpebholo and declaring that the Governor was a blessing to the State however urged the Governor to intervene in the controversy trailing the return of the stolen Benin artifacts.

The Oba delved into the issue accusing Former Governor Godwin Obaseki of sabotaging the return of the said assets and Heritage of Edo land by sidlining the royal stool.

Oba urged the Governor to stop the launch of proposed Museum of West African Arts (MOWAA) which he described as a clear and fraudulent departure from the initial Royal Museum which the artifacts truly belong.

Lady Elabor’s analysis emphasized that Governor Okpebholo’s respect for the throne is the foundation for this newfound unity.
