The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Anambra State, has expelled a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, for allegedly assaulting a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.

The expulsion follows the recommendation of the Student Disciplinary Committee, which found Precious guilty of gross misconduct and violation of the institution’s disciplinary regulations.

The assault on the lecturer, which went viral on social media, reportedly occurred after Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer, interrupted Precious while she was recording a TikTok video on campus.

Angered by the disruption of her video recording, she attacked Sr. Okoye, prompting the university authority to take disciplinary action.

The expulsion takes immediate effect, with Precious instructed to vacate the university premises and return any school property in her possession.

The university’s management, stated that the decision underscores its commitment to maintaining discipline and addressing student misconduct within the institution.
