PRESIDENT TINUBU CONSTITUTES BOARDS FOR NCC AND USPF

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has constituted the boards of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), both agencies under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Bayo Onanuga, announced the appointments in a statement on August 12, 2025. Onanuga said Idris Olorunnimbe has been appointed Chairman of NCC, while Dr Aminu Waida remains its Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer.

The NCC board members include Abraham Oshidami, Rimini Makama, Hajia Maryam Bayi, Col Abdulwahab Lawal (Rtd), Senator Lekan Mustafa, Chris Okorie, and Princess Oforitsenere Emiko, among others. Onanuga said the President also approved the Board of the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), with Dr Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, as Chairman.

Other members of the USPF board include Idris Olorunnimbe, Abraham Oshidami, Rimini Makama, and several other notable individuals. Onanuga did not provide further details on the expectations from the new board members.
