CIVIL SERVANTS WARNED TO APPEAR FOR RE-VERIFICATION OR FACE CONSEQUENCES
A total of 3,598 civil servants who failed to participate in the 2021 verification exercise have been ordered to appear for a re-verification. The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has warned that those who fail to comply will be considered to be holding fake appointment letters.

The re-verification exercise is scheduled to take place from August 18 to August 28, 2025, at various ministries and government agencies. Affected officers have been directed to check the FCSC website, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation website, and notice boards in their ministries to confirm their names.

Officers are required to present specific documents, including original and photocopies of appointment and promotion letters, gazette of appointment and confirmation, staff change letter, and July 2025 IPPIS payslip. The FCSC has emphasized that no further extension will be granted to officers who fail to attend the exercise.
The commission has identified the Ministries of Information, Education, and Labour as having the highest numbers of affected officers. Those who fail to attend the re-verification exercise risk being deemed to be holding fake appointment letters and may face consequences.
