PRESIDENT TINUBU HAILS OLUSEGUN ADENIYI ON 60TH BIRTHDAY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Olusegun Adeniyi on his 60th birthday, describing the milestone as significant. In a press release dated November 6, 2025, the President expressed his delight and joined Adeniyi’s family and friends in celebrating the special day.

Tinubu praised Adeniyi for his distinguished career in journalism, noting his role as one of Nigeria’s most-read columnists. “You have set the pace for disciplined conversations and informed commentary,” the President said. He added that Adeniyi has remained a significant voice and conscience of many Nigerians through his dispassionate treatises on national developments.

Reflecting on Adeniyi’s public service, Tinubu highlighted his tenure as spokesman to the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, stating that he acquitted himself well in that role. The President also commended Adeniyi’s current position as chairman of the editorial board of ThisDay newspapers, where he has upheld the standards of journalism.

The President further acknowledged Adeniyi’s literary contributions, citing his dexterity, brilliance, and knack for excellence evident in his best-selling books. “You are one of our nation’s prolific chroniclers, and the fourth estate of the realm is fortunate to have you as an esteemed member,” Tinubu said.
