Nigerian Woman Dies Hours After Arriving UK for Child’s Graduation

A Nigerian woman, Mrs. Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi (née Oluwalana Ogundana) has reportedly passed away less than 24 hours after arriving in the United Kingdom to attend her child’s graduation ceremony.

The tragic incident was shared on X by a user identified as SK the Plug, who disclosed that Mrs. Akinyemi travelled to the UK on February 11, 2026, ahead of her child’s graduation scheduled for February 18.

According to the post, she suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in the early hours of February 12. She was subsequently rushed to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

Despite medical intervention, Mrs. Akinyemi reportedly remained in a coma for three days and was declared clinically dead on February 14.

The incident has sparked an outpouring of grief and condolences online, with many expressing shock over the sudden turn of events.
