A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted bail to entrepreneur Linus Williams, popularly known as Blord, on self-recognition.

Blord had spent several weeks in Kuje Correctional Centre over allegations of impersonating social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.

The development was disclosed on Friday by former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore in a statement.

According to him, the court granted the defendant bail on self-recognition but directed that he deposit his international passport as part of the conditions.

“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” the statement read.

The case stems from allegations that Blord impersonated VeryDarkMan, though full details of the charges have yet to be made public.

Further proceedings in the matter are expected as the court continues to hear the case.
