Orhionmwon Council Chairman, Hon. Thompson Osagie, Leads Stakeholders at APC Reps Primary, Consoles Family, Receives Youth Reception

The Executive Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon. Thompson Osagie, on Saturday joined APC leaders and members in Ugboko Ward for the party’s House of Representatives primary election ahead of the 2027 General Elections. In a statement, the chairman’s chief press secretary, Dennis Ugbudian, confirmed the exercise was peaceful and transparent.

Prominent figures at the event included Hon. Thompson Osagie, Hon. Christopher Otasowie, Hon. Larry Enobakhare, and several other APC stakeholders. Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Thompson Osagie said, “We are gathered here today to affirm and support our son, Hon. Dr. Billy Osawaru, who has represented our constituency creditably at the National Assembly.”

Voting began at 10:25 a.m., and Hon. Dr. Billy Osawaru was overwhelmingly affirmed as the APC candidate after securing 612 votes in Ugboko Ward. INEC supervisor Comrade Dele John praised members, saying, “The turnout recorded here today is highly commendable.”

On the same day, Hon. Thompson Osagie paid a condolence visit to the family of Elder Amas Oghogho Osayuware in Obozogbe Niro Community during the burial of their matriarch, Late Mrs. Itotayagbon Comfort Oghogho Osayuware, who died at age 120. He attended alongside APC aspirant Hon. Bright Guobadia.

Addressing the family, Hon. Thompson Osagie said, “Reaching the age of 120 is a rare grace. I pray that Almighty God grants the entire family the strength to bear this painful loss.” Hon. Amas Oghogho Osayuware thanked the chairman for his compassion and humility.

The youth of Obozogbe Niro Community, led by Okaghele Mr. Owenaze Oghogho Osayuware, organised a special reception for Hon. Thompson Osagie and Hon. Bright Guobadia. The chairman remarked, “I am sincerely overwhelmed by the love and unity displayed here today. Obozogbe Niro belongs to all of us, and we must continue to work together in harmony.”

Mr. Owenaze Oghogho Osayuware assured the chairman of the youths’ continuous loyalty and offered prayers for Hon. Bright Guobadia’s political aspiration. The event featured music, cultural entertainment, and warm interactions.
