APC Appeal Committee promises fairness in Delta primaries
The National Assembly Primaries Appeal Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has assured party members and aspirants of fairness, neutrality, and transparency in handling complaints arising from the party’s House of Representatives primaries.
The committee, which addressed journalists in Asaba on Sunday, urged aggrieved aspirants and stakeholders to formally submit petitions and complaints related to the conduct of the primaries held across the state. The appeal panel said the process was aimed at strengthening internal democracy and preserving confidence within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on behalf of the five-member committee, Chairman Chukwuemeka Ujam stated that all appeals and grievances would be treated objectively and in line with the APC constitution, electoral guidelines, and democratic principles. He stressed that the committee remained committed to ensuring a credible and interference-free process.
According to the committee, the appeal mechanism provides dissatisfied aspirants with an avenue to seek redress while also helping to maintain unity within the party as preparations intensify for future elections. Members were encouraged to pursue lawful and peaceful channels in resolving disputes arising from the primaries.
The APC recently constituted primary election and appeal committees nationwide as part of preparations for its National Assembly primaries. The party leadership has repeatedly emphasized transparency and fairness in its internal electoral process amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
