A private school teacher in Kano State has been remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly raping and sexually abusing four sisters, aged five and seven. The suspect, identified simply as Uncle Kamal, taught at Al-Hadeed Private School in Inusawa town within Ungogo Local Government Area.

The four victims, named as Hassana, Hussaina, Gambo, and their five-year-old sister, all attended the same school. They are biological siblings sharing the same mother. The prosecutor disclosed that the children’s mother became suspicious after noticing one of her daughters was bleeding from her private part and could not control her bowels.

Upon questioning the children, all four of them accused their teacher, Uncle Kamal, of sexual abuse. The prosecution counsel, Badamasi Gandu, informed the court that medical reports confirmed all four children had been sexually assaulted. The teacher was subsequently arraigned before a Magistrate Court at No-Man’s-Land in Kano.

Following the arraignment, the presiding magistrate ordered the remand of the teacher in a correctional facility. The case has been adjourned for further hearing, with some reports indicating June 6 and others June 9, 2026.

In response to the disturbing incident, the Chairman of Ungogo Local Government Area, Tijjani Amiru Bilyaminu, ordered the immediate closure of Al-Hadeed Private School until further notice. Bilyaminu stated that the closure is necessary to allow proper investigation and ensure justice is served.

The local government chairman reaffirmed the council’s commitment to child protection, saying violators of children’s rights would face severe consequences . The education councillor, Malam Abdullahi Wakili, conveyed the shutdown directive in an official statement.
