Armed Bandits Storm Pissa Community in Borgu LGA, Burn Homes, Residents Flee

Heavily armed bandits have reportedly invaded Pissa community in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State in a large-scale coordinated attack that sent residents fleeing for safety.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers, said to number over 100 and riding on motorcycles, stormed the community in the early hours, catching residents off guard. The assailants were reported to have set several houses and properties ablaze as they moved through the town, with thick smoke seen rising from multiple locations.

A resident who escaped the scene described the attack as chaotic and terrifying, saying families abandoned their homes as the gunmen advanced.

As of the time of filing this report, there is no official confirmation of casualties, and the extent of damage remains unclear.

The incident has heightened tension across Pissa and surrounding communities in Borgu axis, as residents remain uncertain about further developments.

Security authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the attack.
