Enugu Air has confirmed that one of its aircraft was involved in a runway incident after landing at the Benin Airport on Thursday, assuring passengers and the public that there were no injuries or fatalities.

In a public notice issued by the airline, Enugu Air said the aircraft experienced a runway incursion after landing, but all passengers and crew members safely disembarked.

“We confirm that all passengers and crew have safely disembarked and there were no injuries or casualties,” the airline stated.

The airline added that the aircraft has been secured while the relevant aviation authorities have been notified in line with established safety procedures.

According to the statement, an assessment of both the aircraft and the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.

Enugu Air also warned that the incident could lead to temporary adjustments to some of its flight schedules, assuring affected passengers that they would be contacted directly and provided with the necessary assistance.

“The safety of our passengers, crew and operations remains our highest priority. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to provide updates through our official communication channels,” the airline said.

The statement comes amid earlier reports and videos circulating on social media suggesting that the aircraft had crash-landed after suffering damage during landing.

However, the airline did not describe the occurrence as a crash landing, maintaining that it was a runway incident and reiterating that no casualties were recorded.

The relevant aviation authorities are expected to investigate the incident to determine its cause and recommend any necessary safety measures.
