TCN Unveils Anti-Corruption Policy, Warns Staff Against Unethical Practices

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability and ethical conduct across the power transmission company.

The policy was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at TCN’s corporate headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).

Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the document as a major step towards reinforcing the company’s commitment to integrity and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.

Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on what it achieved but also on the manner in which it conducted its affairs, urging employees to familiarise themselves with the policy and apply its principles in their daily decisions and responsibilities.

He commended the ACTU and others involved in developing the document, noting that the policy was designed not only to prevent corruption but also to promote honesty, fairness, transparency, accountability and professionalism within the organisation.

Earlier, Chairman of TCN ACTU, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling represented more than the launch of a policy document, describing it as a collective commitment by management and staff to building a stronger culture of integrity.

Benibo said corruption weakens institutions, erodes public trust and leads to the waste of valuable resources, stressing that tackling the problem required the involvement of every member of staff.

Also speaking, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) representative and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, said the policy would help shape staff conduct, guide institutional decision-making and strengthen internal systems.

She explained that the document provides guidelines for preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices within the company.

The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of the TCN Anti-Corruption Policy Document, which management said would serve as a framework for strengthening ethical standards and accountability across the organisation.
