Dein of Agbor Congratulates New Jaja of Opobo, Urges Support for Monarch

The Dein of Agbor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekwuzi I, CON, has congratulated the newly crowned Jaja of Opobo, His Royal Majesty King Charles Douglas MacPepple Jaja, Jeki VI, Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom.

In a congratulatory message, the Agbor monarch extended his best wishes to the new Amanyanabo and the people of Opobo Kingdom, urging them to support, protect and respect the new king for the success of his reign.

The Dein also wished the monarch a peaceful and successful tenure on the throne, expressing confidence in his ability to provide leadership to the people of Opobo Kingdom.

The Agbor monarch, who serves as Secretary of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council, attended the historic coronation ceremony held in Opobo on Monday, September 28, 2026.

The event attracted prominent traditional rulers from across Southern Nigeria, including His Royal Majesty Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, Obong of Calabar; His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, Olu of Warri; His Royal Majesty Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, CFR, Agbogidi, Obi of Onitsha; and His Eminence, Dr Eberechukwu Oki, Eze Aro IX of Arochukwu Kingdom.

The Dein’s congratulatory message further underscored the traditional institution’s role in promoting unity, peace and cooperation among communities and kingdoms across Southern Nigeria.
