The African Traditional Food Fair is set to bring together more than 2,500 farmers, chefs, policymakers, food innovators and other stakeholders in Abuja as part of efforts to promote Africa’s indigenous foods, culinary heritage and agribusiness opportunities.

The two-day event, scheduled for October 16 and 17, 2026, will be held at the FCT Exhibition Pavilion, Beside the International Conference Centre, Herbert Macaulay Way, Central Business District, Abuja.

Organised under the Mba’Apostoli Food Festival 8, the fair will focus on indigenous foods, nutrition and agribusiness, providing a platform for participants to celebrate Africa’s diverse food culture while exploring opportunities within the continent’s food and agricultural value chains.

The organisers said the event would provide opportunities for farmers, chefs, policymakers and food entrepreneurs to showcase traditional foods, exchange knowledge and promote innovations capable of strengthening Africa’s food systems and creating economic opportunities.

The fair is being co-convened by the Gee Foundation for Social Justice and Development, Kasejene Agriculture, Enterprise and Livelihood, and the organisation represented by the GIPSEP logo on the event materials.
With the theme centred on “Food, Culture, People, A Sustainable Future,” the organisers are also positioning the gathering as a platform for conversations around nutrition, sustainable agriculture, indigenous food preservation and the commercialisation of Africa’s traditional food resources.

The organisers have invited members of the public, particularly stakeholders in agriculture, food production, hospitality, nutrition and entrepreneurship, to participate in the event. Attendance is free, with registration available through the organisers.
