Edo PDP Condoles With Oluku Fire Victims, Demands Urgent Relief And Review Of Emergency Response
The Peoples Democratic Party in Edo State has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at Oluku Market, which claimed lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
In a statement issued on Friday, the party commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The PDP called on the state government and relevant agencies to immediately provide relief materials to the affected traders and residents who lost their livelihoods in the inferno.
The party also urged the authorities to conduct a thorough review of the emergency response to the incident, saying the magnitude of the tragedy raised serious questions about preparedness.
“Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. This is a tragedy that should compel a reassessment of how we respond to such emergencies,” the party said.
The PDP noted that many traders, including widows, lost everything they had laboured for and required urgent support to rebuild their lives.
It further called on the government to investigate the circumstances surrounding the explosion and ensure that those found culpable faced appropriate consequences.
The party urged residents to always heed safety warnings and avoid scooping fuel from fallen tankers, describing the practice as a recurring cause of preventable deaths.
The PDP reaffirmed its solidarity with the people of Oluku and pledged to continue advocating for policies that prioritise the safety and welfare of citizens.
