The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has called on the Federal Government to investigate the military plane crash in Igbokoda, Ondo State, which reportedly claimed the lives of 25 personnel.

Adegbite made the call while expressing condolences to the families of the deceased military personnel, describing the incident as a painful loss to the Nigerian Air Force and the country.

The crash reportedly occurred on October 5, 2026.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Commission’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka, the NCPC chief said the tragedy had left the families of the victims with an irreplaceable loss.

He extended his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, over the incident.

Adegbite urged the Federal Government to ensure that the circumstances surrounding the crash were thoroughly investigated and its cause established to prevent similar occurrences.

He also prayed for the eternal repose of the souls of the 25 military personnel and asked God to grant their families, friends and colleagues the strength to endure the loss.

The NCPC executive secretary further urged serving military personnel not to allow the tragedy to weaken their commitment to national service.

He encouraged them to remain dedicated to their duties, assuring them that their sacrifices and contributions to the country would not be in vain.
