National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced that Ford Motor Company is recalling approximately 179,698 vehicles in the United States due to a safety defect involving a loose bolt in the front seat frame.

According to the regulator, the recall affects certain 2024–2026 Ford Ranger and Ford Bronco models. The issue centers on a bolt within the seat frame that may become loose or dislodged, potentially compromising the seat’s ability to properly restrain occupants during a crash.

NHTSA warned that a faulty seat structure could increase the risk of injury in the event of an accident, as the seat may not hold occupants securely.

To address the issue, Ford dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and replace the pivot links and bolts where necessary. The company said repairs will be carried out free of charge for vehicle owners.

The recall adds to a series of safety actions by the automaker in recent months, as regulators continue to scrutinize vehicle safety standards and manufacturing quality.
