The House of Representatives is set to host a National Public Hearing on the review of Nigeria’s Constitution on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. Spokesman for the House of Representatives, Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., in a statement announced the event aimed at consolidating citizens’ voices ahead of legislative voting on Constitution Review Bills.

Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr. emphasized the House’s commitment to inclusive governance, allowing Nigerians to shape constitutional reforms. Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Constitution Review, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, urged citizens to participate, saying, “This Constitution belongs to all Nigerians, and its review must reflect the aspirations of our people. I urge citizens and stakeholders to participate fully in the National Public Hearing and make their voices count.”

The hearing follows zonal consultations held in July 2025. Akin Rotimi, Jr. noted a compendium of 86 Constitution Review Bills is available for citizens to guide contributions.
