Ibori, Okowa, Onyeme, Emir of Zazzau Lead A-List Guests at Oborevwori’s Son’s Wedding

It was a gathering of political heavyweights, traditional rulers and business leaders in Delta State as former governors James Ibori and Ifeanyi Okowa, Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, Emir of Zazzau Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli and Senator Ede Dafinone, among other dignitaries, converged on Isiokolo for the traditional marriage of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s son.

The high-profile guests joined the Oborevwori and Arigbodi families on Wednesday in celebrating the union of Innocent Oborevwori and Tobore Arigbodi, daughter of prominent businessman and Managing Director of Librod Energy Limited, Chief Brodericks Arigbodi.

The ceremony, held at the Arigbodi family’s country home in Ethiope East Local Government Area, attracted an array of influential figures from Delta’s political, business and traditional circles.

Among the prominent personalities at the ceremony were former Delta governors, Chief James Ibori and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa; Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme; Senator Ede Dafinone; Emir of Zazzau, His Highness Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR; Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Chiedu Ebie; and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.

Hon. Francis Waive and other members of the Delta State House of Assembly also attended, alongside commissioners, local government chairmen, senior government officials and political leaders.

The business community was equally strongly represented, with prominent businessmen including Chief Victor Egukawhore, Chief Eta Enahoro, Chief Tunde Smooth, Chief Johnbull Ejovi, Chief Tony Oboroh and Chief John Oguma among the guests.

The presence of such a cross-section of political and business leaders turned the traditional wedding into one of the major social gatherings in Delta, with former governors and serving political office holders joining traditional institutions and business leaders to celebrate the families.

The ceremony was conducted according to Urhobo customs and traditions, with the two families participating in the traditional rites marking the union of their children.

Governor Oborevwori and his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, alongside Chief Brodericks Arigbodi and his wife, received guests and exchanged pleasantries with the dignitaries.

The celebration also featured music, dancing and cultural displays, while Port Harcourt-based musician Duncan Mighty entertained guests with his performance.

The gathering brought together influential figures with longstanding political, business and traditional ties, highlighting the wide network of relationships surrounding the Oborevwori and Arigbodi families.

As the celebration drew to a close, guests offered prayers and goodwill to Innocent and Tobore, wishing the couple a peaceful, fruitful and enduring marriage.
