Nigerian Pastor Jerry Eze Fills Old Trafford with Prayer, Drawing Over 74,000 Worshippers

Manchester United’s iconic Old Trafford stadium was transformed into a massive house of worship on Saturday, September 26, 2026, as Nigerian pastor Jerry Eze led the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference, drawing thousands of worshippers from across the United Kingdom and beyond.

The 74,000-capacity stadium, typically home to the Red Devils, witnessed an unusual sight as believers filled the stands for a day of prayer, worship, and fellowship organised by Eze’s Streams of Joy International.

The event, which ran from midday until 8pm, was free to attend but required advance registration due to limited capacity. Demand reportedly far exceeded available spaces, with some prospective attendees turning to TikTok in the days leading up to the conference in search of spare tickets.

Eze was joined by prominent Nigerian gospel ministers including Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan, Sunmisola Agbebi, and Kaestrings, who led the congregation in soul-lifting worship sessions.

Taking to his X account during the programme, Eze declared, “What God cannot do does not exist”.

The gathering drew reactions from Manchester United fans on social media, with some finding humour and hope in the unusual spectacle. Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue, commended Eze for the historic gathering, stating, “What Pastor Jerry Eze has done today is historic. It marks a major physical gathering for the NSPPD movement and proves that prayer is still the master key”.

The conference took place during a break in league football for international fixtures, allowing the famous venue to host one of the largest Christian gatherings ever seen at an English football ground.
